How Source Connect Turned Our Downtown Miami Studio Into a Global Recording Room

When we became a Source Connect studio, we knew it would change the way we worked. What we did not fully anticipate was how far it would reach.

Over the years, Source Connect has connected our Downtown Miami studio with productions in the UK, Canada, and across the United States — turning a single room in Miami into a real-time recording space for some of the world's most recognizable brands, franchises, and talent. The talent is here. The team is somewhere else. And the session happens as if everyone is in the same room.

Here is a look at some of the sessions that made that real for us.

London to Miami — I Am Bolt

One of the sessions that stands out most is the documentary I Am Bolt — the feature-length film following Usain Bolt's journey to becoming the fastest man in history.

The production team was in the UK. The talent was here in Miami. Through Source Connect, the London team directed the session in real time while we ran everything on our end — clean recording, real-time communication, broadcast-quality delivery across the Atlantic.

There is something that still feels remarkable about that. A documentary about the world's fastest man, and the audio crossed an ocean without anyone getting on a plane.

Canada to Miami — 30 Years of Pokémon x EB Games

For a campaign celebrating the 30th anniversary of Pokémon in partnership with EB Games, we connected talent recording on-site in Miami with producers and agency in Canada and clients distributed across the US and Canada — all in the same virtual room, all in real time.

Fast decisions. Clean session. And yes, we drew Pikachu on the studio chalkboard. It felt like the right thing to do.

Coast to Coast — Mr. Beast

When Mr. Beast was in Miami, his remote production team needed a local studio that could run a session at the pace and standard his operation demands.

Producer directed remotely. Talent recorded on-site. The session moved fast and delivered clean. That is the expectation when you work at that scale — and Source Connect makes it possible without anyone needing to be in the same city.

Wherever the Producers Were — Sesame Street

A voice over actress who had relocated to Miami brought her Sesame Street character with her. Session after session, her producers directed remotely in real time while she recorded character dialogue and musical segments on-site with us.

The consistency that Source Connect allows across multiple sessions — same connection, same quality, same workflow every time — is what makes it viable for a production like Sesame Street, where getting it right is non-negotiable.

Multiple Cities, One Afternoon — Rob Corddry, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, and Pizza Hut

This one captures something specific about what Source Connect makes possible.

Rob Corddry was in Miami filming Ballers for HBO when the Hot Tub Time Machine 2 production needed ADR — dialogue replacement recorded to picture — with producers directing remotely. We ran the session at Heiga Studios. Then, back to back the same afternoon, Pizza Hut booked him for a separate voice over session with a different remote team.

Two productions. Two different teams in two different locations. One afternoon in Miami. Source Connect running both ends seamlessly.

That kind of scheduling would have been logistically impossible not long ago. Now it is just a Tuesday.

Episode After Episode — Transformers: Cyberverse

For the voice of Windblade — a lead female character in the Transformers: Cyberverse animated series — Miami was home base.

The actress was here. The producers were off-location. We ran an extended recording run across multiple episodes, matching performance to picture and maintaining character consistency session after session, with remote direction the entire time.

Animation is one of the most demanding use cases for Source Connect — the precision required for matching dialogue to picture and maintaining a character's voice across a long series run leaves no room for technical inconsistency. It worked every time.

What Source Connect Actually Makes Possible

The common thread across all of these sessions is not the brand names or the projects — it is what the technology quietly enables.

A production does not have to choose between the talent they want and the studio they need. A director in London can run a session in Miami as naturally as if they were in the next room. A production coordinator in Canada can be on the session live without booking a flight. An actor in Miami can serve a production anywhere in the world without leaving the city.

For a studio like ours — independent, in Downtown Miami, built over two decades from the ground up — Source Connect has been one of the most significant things to happen to the way we work. It removed geography as a variable. What remains is just the quality of the session.

And that part has always been on us.
